TRIBE – afro funk jam sessions vol 1.

Budapest’s new communal musical adventure aboard the Kassa boat – a recurring night of improvisation where some of the city’s most exciting musicians come together on one stage to create never-before-heard sounds, inspired by the playful traditions of afrobeat and world music.

We don’t yet know exactly what will happen – but when many good people gather with many good instruments, something special is bound to emerge.
If you love Fela Kuti, Mulatu Astatke, West African rhythms, or the traditions of Latin music, this is your place.

The goal of TRIBE is to bring Budapest’s musicians together, break down genre boundaries, and show what happens when members of different bands meet in a shared world of improvisation.

The first TRIBE night kicks off on November 20, led by members of Hakumba, who will invite seven musicians from various musical worlds to join them on stage – including members of Budapest Afrobeat Ska Orchestra, The Qualitons, Chalaban, and other renowned bands.

We still don’t know exactly what will happen – but when many good people gather with many good instruments, something special is bound to happen.
