Franny | Kassa Deck Sessions + After: Zakhorov

Franny’s music is rooted in English folk elements, but in her latest songs she moves towards a rawer, more vulnerable and emotionally open direction. Raised in close proximity to nature, she still draws most of her inspiration from the natural things that surround us. Recurring themes in her work include the relationship between the self and the world, a longing for silence, and a return to imagination and mysticism.

Zakhorov (aka Zahár Fanni) is a flutist, saxophonist, producer, and DJ — a well-known figure of her generation in the Hungarian music scene, with recognition across various international jazz and world music circles. She has collaborated with countless producers and bands both in Hungary and abroad, exploring a wide range of genres while treating the integration of live instrumentation into diverse musical contexts as a personal mission.

Her solo project Zakhorov focuses on the fusion of electronic music and organic wind instruments, creating an energetic, bass-driven sound. Her DJ sets span a broad spectrum of styles, ranging from afrofunk to polyrhythmic, four-on-the-floor selections.
