Kassa Waves is Kassa Hajó’s community-driven, value-focused response to Budapest’s trend-driven club culture.
Kassa Waves is the in-house series of Kassa Hajó – not just another addition to Budapest’s nightlife calendar, but a conscious stance in an era of rapidly commercialized club culture built on spectacle and fleeting trends. It offers a homegrown alternative that prioritizes community and cultural curation over mass appeal.
We don’t just book acts – we build an ethos behind every event. For us, a night doesn’t start (or end) with a DJ name. Online reach or current hype isn’t what drives us. We begin with the concept, the sound, and the cultivation of an open and welcoming community – and reflect on how we all relate to it together. This difference might not always be flashy, but we believe it’s always felt over time.
The crew of the first Kassa Waves edition features artists who themselves operate with this cultural commitment at heart. Zvezda Beta, a true legend of the Hungarian scene, joins us alongside Jaffa Surfa, known for his groovy house and techno sound, crisp mixing, and internationally acclaimed sets. Also on board: Man + Machine, leading the charge in dark italo and modern EBM; 3en, one of Budapest’s finest in proper techno; Dorota, a pioneer in her genre; and Aurin, who consistently uplifts the quality of electronic music in the Budapest underground.
